oed2dict is a set of scripts that convert the full Oxford English Dictionary v2 (CDROM version 3.0) into a variety of open file formats. It can then be consulted with a number of dictionary programs, on many different operating systems, including Linux, MacOS, Windows, Android and KOReader.
This is in contrast with the official distribution, which can only be viewed with the proprietary program, is only available on a couple of different operating systems, and cannot easily be interrogated by computer programs. It is also very fast to look up with any of these formats, and is significantly smaller, with the whole dictionary only weighing around 170MiB.
